AM, early start and 8 locks at Neptunes Staircase, which contained most of our flotilla, except the English couple on Lauvic, the Danes (Louise) and the Scots on the charter yacht, who came and waved goodbye at Gairlochy.
The lockeeper announce to us all that two marine service vessels would be taking over the basin pontoons before the sea lock. Some of us weren't happy, especially myself ,as I wasn't prepared to go to sea, with maintenance jobs pending.
However, once in the sea lock we caclulated we would just make the tide at Corran Narrows, which runs at 5knots at springs. We did make it,though the wind was on the nose, but weak.We picked up a morring in a lovely sheltered bay(from the South),at Kentallen,in the entrance to Loch Levan.
Tomorrow we plan to set towards Oban, with the morning out going tide. |
