Hell of a trip around Anvil Point and Tone not too well.Sailed with s/y Ayesha for a while then we were tided out quite a bit (a lot!)Tide races around here not to be messed with.Got quite rough so we decided to put into Swanage and picked up a mooring for the night.Quite rolly but rested.Planned for tides and wind blowing still from SW about F5.Perfect broad reach down to North Channel (Needles-IOW) then straight through to Gosport,in 7 hours.Radio Solent called when I was right in the middle, south of Bramble Bank and north of Cowes.Got in to Gosport and impressed with showers!Slept and did radio interview in morning.Set off for brighton at 09.00 and got pushed down by tide,so gybed up to Boulder and Street (Looe Channel) Then set a reach past Littlehampton, gybed again and straight into Brighton.very rolly and top of a F5.kept steady through the Wednesday night racers.
Into the harbour and met by mark (boatyard supervisor and good mate)and Kate 9adopted daughter and dear friend) who was dressed as a mermaid in the marina dory!
Amazing welcome party (organised by Gelcoat)and of course my berthing was pants with such a big audience.
