Dover-Ramsgate

Dipped our Ensign.Actually, I asked Kerrie to dip it as we motored towards the fuel pontoon and the naval boat dipped back as protocol dictates.(It's a salute to each other). Hoisted the main and we set off briskly tacking through the Goodwin Sands, arriving in Ramsgate in 2 1/4 hours. Thanks also to the girls and their task today of navigating and piloting us there.I gave them the order to do just that! Came in speedily (as requested by Port Control, who was a lady sounding as if she was selling two for one in ASDA!)the tide was dragging me towards the shipping lane but we made it in , two minutes in front of the ferry! Berthed next to a retired couple who had just started sailing in November, bought their boat cruising everywhere they can. Marvellous spirits! Saw >Julie off, sadly.Leaving us until Scotland. Weather coming in from continent, according to Dover Postman, it's the European monsoon!Due to the ice cap melting!Great! maybe we can ski round the Thames or catch an iceberg. Got loads of mackerel from fishermen and gave some to s/y Cari, who met us originally in Eastbourne. Everyone keeps asking me directions and questions, realised it was because I had my Lifeboat jacket on. Giving out Sea Safety guides (FAO:Bill) Off to yacht club for night cap. Bon nuit
