under the weather

...literally.We are stuck as the weather is in the Thames, although settled here in Ramsgate, for now. Woke at 0500 to listen to the shipping forecast, which was dreadful and apparently for the next few days. Trying towards Burnham and everyone departin is quite depressing. However, have neighbours who support us and we made a decision on the information we had, weather forecasts, rain and wind at 0600 and believing the forecast that the waether would deteriorate in the Thames.I have never been so frustrated and depressed over trying to get somewhere!I need to get to Burnham, it's a rite of passage. My childhood stomping ground and initiation into sailing.Where,in our clinker bult sailing dinghy we traversed the rivers and creeks, whilst I learnt to sail by the skin of my teeth, getting the drunken adults back home after weekend pub sessions.More recently,my father's ashes were scattered along there and my dear friend and ol' crewmate Mandy is there. I must remember at this point that Henry Miller quote:Travelling isn't only people and places, but seeing things from a new perspective. Thanks also to Ramsgate Harbour for my free berthing here; and to Kerrie (and George) who left today. Waiting and deciding when to invite my next crew (Rob).
