Well, it was a fast trip only thanks to the tide. 40nm and in 5 hours!Hardly any wind and quite hazy.
Anyway my crew, Alphonse, was thanks to my dear friend Mandy, in Burnham. So glad i was determined to stop off there.A childhood haunbt of happy memories,my father ashes scattered along the Crouch and wonderful scenery, some of the best sunsets and diamond hospitality. Thanks Burnham.
Now in Shotley Marina and thanks to Guy Addington (RNLI - Divisional Manager)my berth is free once again!
Quitye surreal here, with massive tankers in port and delicate contryside on this side . Went for a walk along the Stour last night, so peaceful.
Waiting for crew (Rob Demel -also aTransplant recipient) and Chris Price (who contacted me via the Lloyds Bank sailing club). We plan to set towards Lowestoft, then Whitby this week.Winds look to continue NE, backing backing NW for a while and F4/5.Who knows!
Emails from Cari, another Round Britain boat. They're already in Lowestoft.Nice to keep in touch.
Keep your support coming,it's invaluable as I feel quite alone at times.
Need to fix the log ,which jammed and check gear box oil leak. |
