not a drop to drink!Bilge pump leak,syphonvalve rig I set up not working,diesel leak and all my shoes ruined from salt water seapage from all the above,not diesel as well thank goodness!My new crew Steve Hassan is an RNLI trainer and a humble guy.He took the bilge pump apart and what a nightmare to put it back.I soaked up the diesel and found washer in bilge!Nipped up the stern gland (yes,that was dripping too much,drip,drip, drip)Tried new ststem on syphon valve (dinghy pump hose into bottle),put washer on fuel filter and drying carpets.Oh,and washed and put shoes to dry on deck.
By the way,departed Whitby this morning hoping for wind and not fog,didn't really get either. Sunset at 222.00 in Blyth.They are using the (old) Calshot Lighthouse as their YC!Fantastic,except we missed last ordes at 20.00!Steve and I have been in bilge land.Had lovely dinner (my special omlette) and wine whilst watching the sunset,fishing boats come in asnd the wind turbines ,not sure whuch way to turn.Maybe.Lindisfarne (Holy Island )tomorrow,then Eyemouth (Scotland)Steve is with me till 15th.
