Finally got a signal at the local camp site (still in Eyemouth)at the launderette!
Spent yesterday waliking the walls of Berwick, with Steve 8crew mate) and Pam and Alan (Cari),plus great seconnd -hand shops.
Alan is a great philosopher (so he says) and was quoted as saying that,'if God had meant us to go around the top of Scotland,he wouldn't have invented the Caledonian Canal!
The weather hopefully will trun in our favour Monday and we'll get to Arbroath, where the RNLI mechanic has offered to help me out.In the meantime Alan has given me a tip for the syphon valve, chewing gum.I'll let you know.
Took the fuel filter apart and put a newer gasket in,took ages,as usual to bleed, will run engine today to check.Everyone here so friendly,we feel almost local,as everyone chats to us.They seem to have time on their side.
Anyway, looks as if the Caledonian is getting higher on the agenda as it gets later in the season.
Missing Tony, though he seems to be doing okay sorting out the boat to get to Mexico.Sometimes I think I'm mad and that's where I want to be right now! |
