waitng for the 'divine wind' (kamikaze). The museum curator in Eyemouth (now we really are becoming locals!), told me that the chinese Junk in the harbour was used to make a film here about the first Chinese v.Japanese conflict,he know as he was a MOngolian warrior!Anyway, bless him,Ridley has been fixing my cockpit seat and eating me out of house and home! watching the seals and eider ducks is soporific and today one of the baots went out and just like us last week, came back in!We helped to tie them alongside which was good practise in case we had forgotten our skills.Seeems so long since we were at sea and it was only Thursday that we went out and battled the swell.Apparently the Artci current and the breaking off of the Gulf Stream in these parts is the reason for not only the swell and confusion near the heads, but alos the reason why St.Abb's is one of the best marine environments in these Isles.Divers are going down there about two ,or three times a day. There is a lobster that is only found here and in the med of spectacular colouring. The langoustine are fantastic,i know as we ate them for dinner the other night when I grilled some in teriyaki sauce, then in coconut milk,Yum!The crab is some of the tastiest i have ever eaten,I believed Brixham was good, but sorry this crabs excels its southern cousins.
Tony busy with the boat in San Diego, getting it ready for charter this winter.Hope to get down to La paz and eat lobster there at Xmas!
Well.. the sun is shining, the wind is gradually going in our favour and my new crew (Alan Tarby-RNLI Padstow coxwain) arrive tomorrow,Monday, should be clear to go Tuesday,'kamikaze' willing.
