MY YACHT "SVANEVIT"

*Svanevit is a Hallberg Rassy Monsun 31’ which was built in 1972. Ollie Enderlein designed her and she is Hull Nr. 93. Length: 9.38m Beam: 1.86m Draft: 1.4m.   A modern classic, said to be the Rolls Royce of boats, the Hallberg Rassy name is synonymous with quality. Her lines are beautiful. With a sloop rig and a long keel she’s a bit greedy on the wind - apart from that she sails along like a dream, safe and comfortable even in rough seas.

Her interior is built with loads of lovely hand crafted mahogany. Her teak cockpit is hard work to maintain - but worth it. I was living in Stockholm, Sweden, when I decided to buy a boat that I could sail long distances and live aboard. When I bought her I started to plan sailing her back to the UK -- for a copy of my Logs and Passage Plans, email me.

With my all girl crew, two from Sweden, then two from the UK joining at Denmark, it was a wonderful trip with every possible kind of weather and mooring. Now I’m preparing to sail her around Britain and Ireland.

*The name Svanevit is one of Odin’s Valkyries. In the form of a swan she searched for dead warriors souls to take to Valhalla (the kingdom of the Gods). There they prepared to cure the world of it’s ills by preparing them for war!
